		<description>Jim, now that you mention it, I remember when our dog had a hurt back, he did yelp when we picked him up.  The snarling/snapping was when we reached for him.  Good suggestions for alternative ways to transport him quietly, thanks.</description>

One observation - based on my experience with injured dogs, Holly would be hard pressed to pick him up without a &lt;i&gt;very&lt;/i&gt; loud yelp of pain, which would of course wake her son. I&#039;d do one of two things - either have the dog become unconscious or have Holly go back inside and get Valium, doggie downers, or etc - and there might be an interesting aside as to why she has that particular pill handy.</description>
