I want to set down some basic playground rules for readers and commenters on my blog.

This is not a democracy. It’s my blog, and I reserve the right to edit and delete comments as I see fit. I probably won’t, but I can and might. If you want an uncensored platform for your views, start your own blog.

Things that make my delete finger itch:

• Complete lack of relationship of your comment to the topic at hand.
• Excessive profanity – this is a PG rated blog
• Harassment based on a person’s particular race, gender, orientation, etc
• Physical threats
• Flame wars or trolling (I like debate, but keep it civil!)
• Comment SPAM

This blog uses an automated spam filter for comments. Things that will probably trigger a moderation delay:

• Inclusion of more than two links in a comment
• Certain keywords, for example pharmaceutical terms or XXX comments
• Comment spam

Commenter name and email address are required (email won’t be published). Anonymous commenting is not allowed. If you are going to post it – stand behind it!
