New Glasses
My new glasses were so inexpensive via Costco and online, I got two pair, since I wear them hard with my frequent travel, commuting, and bedtime reading habits. Here they are:

These are burgundy wire frames, with earpieces inlaid in white pearlescent metallic. They’re more conservative, perhaps even a little middle-aged? Karen Kane from Costco Optical (awesome quality and service)

These are brown, lined with orange. The metal lower half earpiece is copper. They are striking and funky, but perhaps a bit retro and severe? Vogue from Frames Direct online (awesome service and order speed)
I’m working on trying to look more professional and feminine, need to wear glasses a whole lot more of the time now, and would enjoy hearing any honest and constructive feedback.

Hmm…yea….ok…here goes…..
No.
I need to see them in person in order to provide accurate feedback!

I like them. The square frames are best for you, I think, since your face is rounder. And I’m totally digging on the funky – I have several pairs of Vogue frames.

I like the glasses. But I’m not the person to ask when it comes to fashion sense.

I love the second pair, with the copper…I am in the market for new frames this fall and think I may need to funky-it-up a bit. From the pics, I say good choice!

I love them! I love the second pair! I have a copper pair that I should wear much more than I do. Ok, so you guilted me. I am now wearing my no line bifocals, and amazing what I can see!
We are going to have to check out Costco. We spend a bloody fortune on eyewear between the two of us. This year we spent well over $1200, and that was after the eye insurance portion of the deal. Ugh.

Both of them look good on you. I agree with Janiece, though – the rectangular frames look best. I’ve got funky rectangular frames that I LOVE and I never thought I’d look good in funky frames.

Thanks, all, for the input. I was very pleasantly surprised w/ Costco pricing, although I would have liked a bit more selection. The online option, though, while the speed of shipment was fabulous, was actually a little more expensive w/ the progressive bifocals, lightweight no-scratch lenses and anti-glare coating.
Interestingly enough, most of my female friends like the latter pair – and most of my male friends (who didn’t vote via blog comment, but otherwise) preferred the first pair. Hmm. No idea why, but food for thought.
In the final analysis, I don’t dress to please anyone, men, women or fashion police, and I’m perfectly happy with looking like an idiot (or not) all by myself.

I like the first pair. Does that make me a closet guy?
I like the contrast between your hair color and the burgundy of the frames.
