Fall Hangs On

Japanese Maple

Fall is hanging on in the back yard. This is a fairly unusual variant of Japanese maple – unfortunately we didn’t document the exact hybrid when we planted it but if I remember I’ll update this. It’s a lovely magenta in spring, green edged with crimson all summer, and a riot of color in fall. It’s growing more like a vine maple than a tree and is supposed to reach 12-15′ tall and wide.

    I’ve got a yard full of dead leaves that I’m not up to raking, and Michael doesn’t want to rake.

    Very odd, Nathan – it pulls avatars from a couple of places. I like Baby Jack, though!

    Michelle, we don’t rake nearly as often as we should. :P

    Love all the colors!! Fall came to a crashing stop here – we got hit with over 9″ on Thursday night. And this was the first snowfall of the year – I guess it’s here to stay :)
