The little girl at the table next to me a few days ago was wearing ruby sequin ballet flats. Her mom must have conquered an evil witch to get her those shoes – and before breakfast, yet! I was just a little bit jealous.
So I went out and got new summer shoes. Fun shoes!
They’re comfortable for a trail or the beach and slip on and off easily. They’ll be cute with jeans or capris, and are a little bit bohemian-funky.
They weren’t on sale, and, well, there’s not a sequin in sight. 
But I’m happy anyway.
The title, for those that didn’t catch it, is from God Save the Sweet Potato Queens. If you haven’t read Jill Conner Browne’s Sweet Potato Queens humor books – find them and curl up with them and something chocolate. Or alcoholic. Or both.

Kewt indeed! My Sketchers sneakers are starting to split their seams, so I may have [makes sad face] replace them with new kewt shoes like that.

Hmmm. Were you at The Original Pancake House in Rockville MD last week?
My 5 year-old was wearing shoes just like the ones you describe. Of course we call them her ruby slippers — bought at Target, mind you. Your shoes are cute and way more comfortable than the ruby slippers my daughter wears…

Anne, I’ve never had Skechers before – last time around I got Keds but they had no cushioning, so I hope these are more comfy.
