Ashamed
I’m ashamed of my country and its leadership tonight.
Bush to Veto Bill Banning Waterboarding
Doing the right thing must no longer be an American value.

I’ll withhold my shame until congress fails to override the veto.

I’m not at all surprised.
My personal opinion is that everyone in Congress and the President should have to undergo Waterboarding before voting. Everyone. Without exception.

I will be glad when Bush is gone. Override it, please.

Have I filled up my fifth folder yet?

I actually am not a Bush basher. I tend to be pretty moderate in my views of elected officials (and candidates) of both parties.
I think Bush is a well-intentioned man who truly believes he is doing right by our country. I also think he is unfortunately easily led and poorly counseled by his closest advisors.
But, on this issue, bottom line… I cannot accept that the leader of the largest and most powerful democratic nation in the free world feels that it’s acceptable to use torture, for any reason.

Jeri,
No offense, but you know what they say about the road to hell and all…
