Both reasonably secure, with kids approaching college age. The only difference is that we <em>both</em> work in technology. Of course, that makes us nervous, so when we bought our home, we made sure we could pay the mortgage on one salary, and then socked away enough money so we could both be out of work for 6 months without missing a payment. I have a sinking feeling we may need our safety net moving forward, becaue I don't think the Fed can control the economy to the degree people think it can.
