Bill, I, too, am tired of Linksys and its idiosyncrasies. My last two really solid routers have been D-Link and I've been quite pleased. I can't quite bring myself to spring for an Airport base station...

Barb, thanks! My family was pretty appreciative when they were finally able to reconnect - an unexpected side benefit of the long outage.

Holy, having wireless is WONDERFUL. We are all on notebook computers now and connect from anywhere in the house. I've banned tv from our bedroom, but if the hub can't sleep, he can watch streaming video via wireless, on his notebook, in bed.

And yes, the sunrises have been just amazing the last few days!

egads....what ever did they do without you?

I recently had to replace my router - too many moves and resets fried it I think. But I maybe should have invested in the home network one. Oh well.

Hey, did you check out those weird and wacky clouds above today - very freaky.

And based on my husband's post, you can see why I am eternally grateful to have a techie in the house. I know he can readily identify with your feelings of working all day, and then being faced with tech-related problems at home. Let me please speak for those of us in your households - WE ARE IN YOUR DEBT AND WE KNOW IT!!!!

Our Linksys wireless router had the WAN port die over night. I had to make a new DLink Xtreme N Gigabit Router work. It worked in a split second with the Mac with wireless, WPA2, and wired. Barb's machine (XP) fought for a while by not picking up the DNS settings. It turned out once I changed the WPA encryption on the PC from AES (and rebooted) that eerything was OK.

I had to use Firefox because Safari would quit working after 4 clicks.

I tired of Linksys hardware. I've had 3 and they all died. This last one died a port at a time. The DLink wireless print server I have has been rock-solid. I'm sticking with them for a while.
