Panda’s Pick: Bears

Panda SmallPanda, my Peke with mad skillz, was surfing the net today, and she found this site:

http://www.panda.org

Anything that references pandas has gotta be good, you’d think… but noooo! The panda.org site, home of the World Wildlife Federation, is featuring tigers on the main page. Pekes think that tigers are highly overrated. Feline, large, toothy, and tropical… not even worth writing about.

So Panda drilled down and found something pretty cool.

Polar bears!

Did you know they put GPS trackers on polar bears – which is what is linked above – and you can meet the bears and watch their movements in the Arctic summer? Some polar bears swim 20-30 miles in search of new hunting grounds, and you can see what they’re up to on the site, as well as the scientists’ research notes.

Panda thought that was awesome, since her middle name is Bear. She did want me to point out that she personally doesn’t swim, she sinks, and she expects her fish to be de-boned and hand-delivered to her on a platter.

Panda says that her mother needs to spend less time on the net, take her for more walks, and get a life. You think?
